Catherine has had over 20 years experience in Taxation, business, SMSF's, finance and property investment. She holds an Accounting Degree and a Masters degree in Taxation and was recognised by the Certified Practitioners of Australia (CPA) Society as a 'Specialist in Taxation' in 2001. She spent 11 years with the Australian Taxation Office as a senior Audit manager and a Fraud Investigator.

After leaving the ATO Catherine established an Accounting practice in Ulladulla in 2002 and then relocated the practice to Canberra in 2006. Catherine is a member of FBAA, a Fellow of the NTAA and a member of PIPA. She also holds a Diploma of Financial Planning, a Diploma of Mortgage Broking and Finance, a Diploma of Real Estate, a Masters Degree in Taxation and a Degree in Accounting. She is also a Justice of Peace and Certified Results and Master Results Coach.
Most importantly Catherine is a passionate Property investor. She bought her first property when she was 17 and has brought and sold over 20 properties in the last 20 years. She currently maintains a large property portfolio and has properties in ACT, NSW, Qld, and Vic. She holds both residential and commercial properties and her aim is to retire to the coast and live financially independent through the capital growth on her property portfolio. Catherine made many mistakes during her investing career and her main goal is to help her clients not make the same mistakes.
Along with a busy career, Catherine is raising four young children and knows the importance of children to our future.

Michael Johnson- Director and Registered Tax Agent

Michael is a Registered Tax Agent, Fellow of the Tax Institute and Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants with over 10 years’ experience in the accounting profession both as an employee and running his own business.

Michael specialises in working with Individuals and small businesses to not only help them get the best tax outcome but to also help them understand their tax and business affairs and put them on the right track moving forward.

Michael loves watching and playing sports and when not out on the sporting field can often be found camping or fishing somewhere in the great outdoors.

David Beaumont- Senior Tax Manager


David (or “Bowie” as his friends call him) completed his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree in 1984 and has been a CPA for over 30 years dealing with wide range of businesses in retail, manufacturing, hospitality and service industries. A direct result being a wide range of experience gained at many levels of business, including that of directorships and CFO roles.

He has held a Registered Tax Agents Licence for over 30 years and is also a Registered Agent with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission.

He has been married since 1985 and along with his wife have raised 4 wonderful children.

During his working and business career to date, he has been involved in Public Practice as an employee for 4 years and as a Partner for over 25 years. He also spent just over 9 years establishing and growing a Holiday Resort Management business in Merimbula from $0 turnover into a multi-million dollar turnover business before selling his interest in that business in recent years.

His professional interests include:

Taxation, Management Consulting, Profit & Cash Flow Improvement, Business Exit/Succession Planning, Optimising Business Value, Business Planning, Business Coaching and takes a strong interest in Finance and Investments.

His personal interests include:

Australian Rules Football, Tennis, Golf, and the beach.

Peter Bishell - Consultant SMSF Auditor

Peter is well known in Canberra for his specialist knowledge in the area of SMSF's. Peter has a Bachelor in Marketing, a Masters Commerce and a Financial Planning Diploma. He has had over 22 years experience in Financial Planning and SMSF's. In 2008 Peter published a book titled 'The Self Managed Superannuation Trustees Handbook'. He has agreed to be the SMSF Auditor for all WFS Canberra SMSF clients.
Peter Bishell has established a new accounting practice specialises in the audit of self-managed superannuation funds. The major difference between the audit service Peter provide's and other SMSF auditors is that Peter will meet with fund trustees BEFORE the end of each financial year to make sure there are no issues that require attention prior to the end of the financial year.

Ninette Ferlitsch - SMSF Manager/Administrator


Ninette Joined WFS in 2010 and has been working in the SMSF field for over 11 years. She is experienced and proficient in SMSF legislation, compliance and the workings of SMSF’s, dedicating herself to the smooth running of our client's requirements. She worked for Phase Three Superannuation and Retirement Consultants (Peter Bishell) for 2 years before transferring to Walter Turnbull/Price Waterhouse Coopers Lybrand for a further 2 years. Ninette has completed her Diploma in Financial Planning, is RG146 compliant and an Associate Member of the SMSF Association. Other qualifications she has gained relating to her role as SMSF Manager are a Diploma of Management, Certificate in Property Management (NSW) and Certificate IV in Bookkeeping

Iris Yan - CPA Accountant (Melbourne) 0415 378 302


Iris is a qualified CPA. She has a bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Accounting, a Diploma in Taxation and an Advanced Diploma of Australian Law Part 1 (AIFA). Iris has been with WFS for 6 years and is responsible for the smooth processing of individual and rental property tax returns, tax return lodgements, liaising with the ATO, company setups, ABN and TFN applications and bookkeeping for our business clients.

Mary Zamer -Tax Accountant


Mary is the newest member of the WFS team and she plays an important role in the firm. Mary is the first point of contact for the office and also performs many tax functions ranging from tax return interviews through to processing returns and also performs various administrative tasks across all divisions of the firm. Mary grew up in Egypt where she studied accounting and then later moved to Australia to continue her studies. She is experienced in taxation and is a valuable new addition to the firm, we are excited to have her start with us for the new tax season.

Simon Spriggs- Senior Accountant


Simon has been working in the tax and accounting industry in public practice and building his expertise over the last three years. He has a Master of Accounting/MBA is an Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants and is currently half way through his CPA qualification.

Simon loves dealing with clients to get them the best possible tax outcome and helping them find all those tax deductions that most people don’t know about. He is also passionate about investment properties which has led him to owning multiple investment properties himself.

Chris McGuigan - Senior Tax Manager

Chris has over 30 years experience in accounting in a broad range of roles. Over 15 years working closely with small to medium-sized businesses for financial, tax, computer and management consulting. Also involved in practice management focusing on the internal systems of the accounting firms as businesses themselves.

Chris also has spent almost 15 years in commercial accounting roles both in the private and not for profit sectors.

Having owned and operated her own businesses in various sectors Chris fully appreciates the need to wear “multiple hats” as required with the day to day pressures of businesses to manage multiple tasks and priorities and understands the challenges faced by business owners in our changing environment today.aving o

Lara Brown - Property Investment Broker and Real Estate Agent


Lara joined WFS in July 2015; she brings with her 23 years of experience within the customer service industry ranging from hospitality, retail and reception work. She has worked in some interesting venues such as Parliament House, Hyatt Hotel Canberra, Sydney Casino at The Astral and many more. She has more recently held a position working for 11 years for an Australian Designer fashion label, and she has vast experience in Management and training roles. She has recently completed her ACT Principles Licence which entitles her to own and operate an agency within the ACT. Therefore she is now fully qualified to meet her clients every needs.

Personally, Lara has achieved many things in life, she grew up in Papua New Guinea and has travelled around the globe which gave her a greater perspective on the world and its people. She has bought and sold several houses and units within her portfolio so understands the complexities of the transaction and will be able to guide you through the ins and outs. Her most recent project was to build her own home, and that was successfully achieved while raising two cheeky children, selling a property and working part-time. She is not afraid of a challenge and always endeavours to do her utmost to assist her clients in getting a win/win conclusion to every transaction.


Tanya Ristevska - Mortgage Broking Admin Assistant


Tanya has had over 15 years experience in Mortgage Broking. She has worked for numerous Mortgage Broking Companies including Aussie Home Loans and Rams. She has been working for WFS for over 5 years and is a polite, friendly, helpful member of the team. Her work standard, professionalism and ethics are also of an extremely high standard and you can rest assured that if Tanya is working on your file - you are in great hands



Abby Morphett- Tax Accountant & Mortgage Consultant (Melbourne)


Abby Morphett has been working in the accounting industry for the past 10 years and particularly in Individual and Small business for the past 5 years. With Abby’s experience in accounting coupled with her extensive knowledge of the Property Industry, Abby is a power house to have in your corner when maximising your returns, particularly where investment properties are concerned.

Abby has a Diploma in Accounting and a Certificate in Business. She is currently completing her Cert IV in Mortgage Brokering and finance management as well as her Bachelor of Laws.

With her passion for ongoing education, Abby fits in well with the Wholistic Team.

Naomi Owen Penfold- Property Manager


Naomi completed hospitality qualifications at the Canberra Institute of Technology in 1994 and has since developed extensive small business management experience through successfully owning and operating three cafes in prominent locations of Barton and Civic, as well as being a partner in her husband's house building and maintenance business. For several years Naomi also owned and operated her retail shop at the Canberra Brand Depot.

Naomi and her husband have owned a property portfolio in Canberra of up to five properties and more recently designed and built their house in the suburb of Casey. After gaining experience and knowledge working as a Property Manager, Naomi has recently completed her ACT Principles Licence and is a valuable addition to the expansion of the Wholistic Company.

Naomi considers the basis of her success has been her professional approach to all facets of small business management including providing outstanding customer service, good staff management and attention to financial accounting.

Outside of work, Naomi's activities revolve around her two children including such roles as Parent Liaison at her children' s school. She also enjoys playing competitive netball and gym activities.

Jake is a diligent and professional Financial Planner, his client’s needs are always his number one priority. Since 2008 he has worked with Insurance & Finances for some of the biggest insurers and banks in the country.

Jake can assist you to build financial wealth with an array of specialised tools and knowledge. There are numerous ways to achieve financial wealth depending on a person's specific situation and goals. Jake's specialty is getting to know his client and their situation to implement a plan to best help them reach their goals. He does this by ensuring every client has a clear understanding of the process and products they hold. No job is too big or small, his goal is to help as many clients as possible achieve financial independence.

Trudy Heins- CFP Financial Planner (Brisbane Office)


Trudy has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry and she is passionate about providing long-term quality and solid advice. She holds a Diploma in Financial Planning and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) which is the highest designation afforded to financial planners in Australia. She also holds specialist qualifications in Margin Lending and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs)

Trudy has joined WFS to establish our Queensland business after recently selling her own Financial Planning business in Tasmania. She has worked with both large and small financial planning practices in her career and has learnt that the essence of a great financial planner is all about listening to her clients, and helping them work towards their goals on a step by step basis. She prides herself in being able to explain investment and risk concepts in a “plain English fashion”. Trudy views that an ongoing client and adviser relationship is paramount for financial success.

Trudy has owned both residential and rural properties as well as extensive share portfolios and understands the challenges of fitting longer-term investing alongside shorter-term goals and needs. She has established and sold many business in her career and enjoys working with kindred entrepreneurial spirits.

Trudy has two grown children who resides in Brisbane and is expecting her first grandchild which has drawn her back to Queensland.

Peter Carew- Home & Investment Loan Consultant


Peter has a design architect and civil engineering background and moved into the finance field in 1991 accepting a commercial lending position with WESTPAC.

During his tenure with WESTPAC, Peter gained an extensive knowledge in business lending and property development finance.

In 1996 Peter established his own company and commenced trading as an ASIC licenced mortgage broker servicing the SE Qld home and investment loan market as well as working with local and interstate property developers and residential construction builders.

Over the past 20 years Peter has owned and managed both mortgage finance broking and property development businesses, having gained a wide range of business experience in his capacity as Director.

Peter has assisted clients in developing an wholistic and strategic approach to their mortgage finance and wealth management objectives and to developing investment strategies that include direct property investment.

Peter relocated to Canberra in 2010 with his family, to be closer to extended family. He has two children, one attending ANU and the other attending Qld University.

Peter is a qualified Mortgage Finance Consultant and Wealth Adviser with qualifications in Mortgage Broking; Financial Planning and Project Management and is ASIC licenced.

Peter recognises the philosophy and “wholistic” approach of WFS service proposition to it's clients aligns well with his own principles and is pleased to have joined WFS.

Nadia Ashraf- Junior Accountant SMSF & Tax


Nadia has joined WFS in December 2016. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Majoring in Accounting and Finance. She has completed Master of Finance from the University of Technology Sydney and Professional Accounting from the Australian National University. Currently, she is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties in WFS. She is looking forward to expand her knowledge in taxation and investment from WFS team. Also, she would like to continue her studies and be a Certified Professional Accountant in future.

Karen Riddle- Tax Administration Assistant 


Karen joined Wholistic Financial Solutions (WFS) in August 2019 as tax administration assistant.  She has a Diploma in Financial Planning and Certificate III in Business.  She is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the WFS team as a whole and in particular the tax team.  After 10 years working in financial planning she is looking forward to expanding her knowledge within taxation field.  Prior to entering into financial planning Karen own and operated two franchise bakeries for 9 years. 

She loves spending time with family and friends, she also enjoys watching “Netflix”.


Elaine Yao - Accountant

Elaine joined Raw Chartered Accountants in February 2017, having completed a Master Degree in Professional Accounting through University of Canberra.

Elaine now works as part of our taxation team. Her role includes preparing Individual Tax Returns, ensuring each client group’s program of annual services is up to date and supporting senior staff.

Elaine is a dynamic and friendly person with six years’ experience in the customer service industry, she is passionate about managing and developing relationships with clients.

Elaine is currently undertaking the CA program and will soon join the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Alex Xue- Admin and Junior Accountant

Alex has joined Wholistic Financial Solutions (WFS) in July 2018 as a tax administration assistant. He has a Bachelor degree of Industry Management and he has completed Master of Accounting from the Australian National University. In terms of his work duties, he is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties in WFS, especially for taxation team. He is looking forward to expanding his knowledge in taxation and investment from WFS team. Also, he would like to continue his studies and be a CPA in the future.

Hobby: Gym, Travel, Food and basketball (outdoor sports).


Carl Fenton – Accountant and Registered Tax Agent

Carl joined WFS last year and has been a driving force in the business ever since. He has over 10 years in accounting , both as an employee and running his own business. He holds a Diploma in Accounting and is an Associate member of the IPA.

Personal Interest:

He is a keen golfer and plays regularly both in Canberra and the Snowy Mountains.

He likes to watch Footy Ball- (the English version- GO THE CANARIES ), AFL and enjoys a glass of wine.

Jeffrey Herron- General Manager Wholistic Property Solutions QLD

I have over 25 years senior business acumen as a Business Owner, Senior Accountant and Senior Manager of established industry leaders in real estate, manufacturing, property and facilities management, management rights, construction and property development.







Anna-Marie Clarke –  Tax Administration assistant 


Anna has 15 years customer service and retail management experience, coming from the luxury cosmetics industry. In 2018, She decided to take her first steps into the accounting world and started studying Accounts and Bookkeeping Certificate 3 and then joined WFS this year. Anna is working towards finishing her Certificate 3 this year and then moving on to Certificate 4.  She is looking forward to developing her skills in the area of Taxation Administration and is enjoying being part of busy accounts office and learning about the different divisions of the business.


Personally Anna has two young children and manages her sons soccer team, she enjoys travel and the occasional night out with friends.

She bought her first property here in Canberra after moving from the UK. Her dream is to build a property portfolio, including building a ‘forever home’ for her family.’


Hayley White –  Receptionist 


Hayley joined WFS in July  2019. She previously had Administration and customer service/management roles which she enjoyed. 

Hayley is currently studying induction to accounting and hoping to learn the many facets of WFS and it's partner companies. 

On weekends she spend my time with her child caravanning, camping, fishing, snowboarding.

Hayley enjoy swimming, running and spending time at the beach.
